German Lager

A German Lager malted with Light Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts. Hopped with Magnum, Hallertau and Saphir. Crates 23 lites at 5.2%ABV.

This German Lager is made with Pilsner malt for flavour and colour, Vienna for a mild nuttiness, and Munich for its aroma.  Hopped with German Magnum and Hallertau to provide the bitterness of a German Lager with a mild apple aroma. Final addition hops are Saphir noted for its ability to provide a spicy floral aroma note particularly suited to German style Lagers.

The full grain kit includes the following -

Grain Bill
500g Joe White Light Munich Malt
1.0kg Joe White Vienna Malt
4.0kg Joe White Pilsner Malt (Export Pilsner)

Hop Additions

12.0g Magnum – 60 minutes
25.0g Hallertau – 30 minutes
12.0g Saphir – 10 minutes

Other Additions

Whirlfloc Tablet – 5 minutes
12g Mangrove Jack's M76 Bavarian Lager Yeast ( Note this is low temperature Lager yeast.  Please ferment between 9o to 15o)

Recommended Mash Temperature – 66°C

Mash Time – 60 minutes

Recommended Mash Sparge Temperature – 76°C

Hop Boil Time – 60 minutes

Batch Size – 23 Litres
